The Kansas Young Republicans today endorse Lisa Stickan for YRNF Chair and the YRs United ticket in the July elections taking place at the YRNF National Convention in Puerto Rico. Topeka, Kans. – J.R. Claeys of Salina was selected today as the Chairman of the Kansas Young Republicans at the state convention at Republican Party Headquarters in Topeka. Claeys will also serve on the State Republican Executive Committee. Founded in 1880, the Kansas Young Republicans has produced countless Republican leaders, from local office-holders to United States Senators. The group organized the state’s first Kansas Days, which has become the annual meeting of the Kansas Republican Party.

On September 6, 1880, at the Republican State Convention in Topeka, a club for young Republicans was formed with the mission of bringing young people to the Republican Party. The Kansas Young Republicans has a rich history and tradition in the Kansas Republican Party. The annual gathering of Kansas Republicans, Kansas Days, was founded by the Young Republicans, including William Allen White, in 1892. The Kansas Young Republicans has developed leaders from local office-holders to U.S. Senators over the past 130 years.
