Funds being raised to send Kansans to leadership training in Washington, D.C.

The Kansas Young Republicans are raising funds to send members to leadership training at the Young Republican Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. April 26 - 29, 2012. KYR needs to raise $4,000.00 toward registration fees and hotel accommodations for our Young Republicans to attend this training conference in our nation's capital. Members attending the leadership training will have a vested interest in participating fully in the opportunities available at the conference as each attendee will be responsible for their own travel expenses to and from the conference. Please contribute today to the Kansas Young Republicans and help us create future Republican leaders through participation in events like the Young Republican Leadership Conference! More»

Application for the Republican Men's Leadership Series are open and due January 15, 2012 for the 2012 class beginning in February. Republican Men are encouraged to complete an application and participate in the series.

Kansas Young Republicans to send delegation of six to Atlanta

The Georgia Young Republicans are holding the YRNF National Committee meeting in Atlanta November 11-13, 2011. The Kansas Young Republicans will send a delegation of six to the meeting, including four voting members of the committee. The meeting will take place at Atlanta’s most iconic hotel, the Westin Peachtree Plaza, towers 73 stories over the heart of downtown Atlanta. The Sun Dial Restaurant & Bar is perched atop the Westin and slowly revolves to give guests a view of the entire city. Other dining options located in the Westin include: The Café (a Southern-style buffet breakfast), The Lobby Bar and Starbucks. Johnson County District Attorney Steve Howe will be our special guest at next week's meeting. Howe will give us an update on public safety in Johnson County and recent crime trends. Mr. Howe was elected DA in 2008 in a hard-fought race and is up for re-election in 2012. We will be meeting Wednesday, Oct. 5th at 7 pm at On the Border (95th and Quivira in Overland Park, outside Oak Park Mall). Kansas Young Republicans were appointed to national positions at the Young Republican National Convention this week in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Kelly Arnold of Wichita was appointed Chair of the YRNF Site Selection Committee, J.R. Claeys of Salina was appointed to the Campaign Committee, Lora Hines-Cox of Haven was appointed to Finance Committee, and Brandon Kenig of Shawnee was appointed to Campaign Committee. More»
